Let's check this out and re-eval closer to release. I'm a sucker for Warhammer 40k and I'm fine with the cartoonish look, but 1) damn did that gameplay look not good, and 2) "early alpha 2022" isn't too promising.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader (Owlcat Games) However their next roadmap milestone is a major revamp of "Unit abilities, leveling, attributes, enemy variants, combat rebalance", and the one after that "dungeon rebalance including time modifiers, camping modifiers, and events." Not too impressed now, but would like to revisit after those updates. Most of the systems don't seem to have any real depth/decisions to them. Interested in at least seeing this game, but not released at time of review. Reviews suggest it needs a bit more time in the cooker. Interesting enough that I want to try it at some point. The idea of getting in on a next gen Paradox game on the ground floor is pretty enticing.

I generally like Paradox games, although I often find it tough to get into a series that has 9 million expansions and updates. Too little info last time, check for updates and re-evaluate. Currently planning to have a look Jan 2023. Interested in this title, but want it to get further through EA before I check it out. Would like to revisit on major updates, especially release. This makes for a really steep learning curve, not from difficulty, but from fun.
True "sandbox" game in the sense that the game does very little to lead you to the rewarding gameplay loops - They're there, but you need to know how they work before you can reliably engage with them. Needs QoL mods, and probably needs a UI overhaul. Looks interesting, reviews say very buggy and low content at the start of the EA - we'd like to check it out further along the development cycle. Looking forward to seeing improvements over the EA. Didn't feel like the systems were really working together to make a fun game. As of 6/15/22 EA, didn't love the game balance or play flow.
